Have mercy. Wow, this was a Never Give Up day for the record books.
Worked on my English final exam until 2am.
Read a book for a study group, fell asleep, woke up around 6am.
Manage to get out of the house to meet a friend at 9am.
Worked six hours; drove from San Antonio to Schertz, Cibolo, Canyon Lake, New Braunfels, Seguin, China Grove, and back to San Antonio.
Took my Philosophy final exam (100%!!!).
Went to CVS, Walgreens, and the bank.
Went to Auto Zone twice.
Tried to jump my car battery four times.
Tried unsuccessfully to remove the car battery twice.
Called around to try to remember where I left my fancy portable battery charger. Never found it.
Cried a tear or two.
Prayed with a dear friend.
Finally signed up with AAA and they came out and jumped the battery.
But they told me to turn off the car because of the error codes on the dash. Told me to call for a tow in the morning.
I researched the error codes after the technician left. Turns out they are usually bogus.
Tried to turn on the car again and of course no battery power.
Called AAA and the technician back. They said they’d come out.
Sorted through 400-600 pictures for another project while I waited.
After an hour I called back and they never sent the guy.
They were going to charge me for another call. But I was able to get supervisor approval for them to comp me.
Second technician came out. From Turkey. Cool guy. Told me my battery was dead. Sold me a new one. Installed it. All of my error codes are gone on the car. Everything seems fixed.
Drove to the grocery store before they closed and encouraged the cashier with her nursing finals.
And now for dishes and some sleep.
A 9am appointment tomorrow morning. And a 1:30pm conference call. On top of a 10-hour work day. And studying for my last two final exams on Wednesday.
Not trying to get sympathy. Just sharing to encourage any friends who might also be spinning a million plates. Because mass media usually skips over the process and glorifies the outcome. Real life isn’t resolved in 30 minutes to two hours like we see on the screens.
Actually extremely happy that I had mostly peace throughout the whole day. Turned up the music. Tried to be friendly with everyone and not get an attitude. Ended up laughing a lot and meeting new people. A welcome change from my usual mind.
Living loved.
