I saw a sign that said, “God loves you BUT you must be born again.”

But?

Ok, God loves us. John 3:16.

And we need to be born again. John 3:3.

But?

How are we supposed to be born again? I certainly can’t do it in my own strength. How would I even know? How could I have assurance?

I wonder if we assume that we are all in Christ as His Creation, then we were born once in Adam versus once in our mother? So then we are all, the whole world, born again when Jesus was born through Mary? That’s the only way, no? Otherwise we get back into all the old arguments.

I wonder if that all jives with the rest of John 3?
