From me to Sojourner:

Whoa! I saw Paul Young was on Oprah. He talked about how he had an affair. I was like, “What?!?!”

So, I ended up watching his story and then a bunch of other videos of him speaking, including some with Baxter Kruger. Whoa! My brain hurts now. This stuff is way different than what I’ve lived with before! Trying to wrap my mind around all of it. If it is true then it changes everything! Goooood grief. In a good way.

From Sojourner to me:

Funny to hear from you as I may have an extra ticket for the weekend of August 4th-6th to attend a retreat Baxter is leading. I was wondering about asking if you were interested.

Our Bible study group just finished studying Baxter’s book “The Shack Revisited”. I casually mentioned I was going to his women’s retreat. Ten signed up that day!!!!

One has to cancel (as her husband got very ill) and gifted her ticket to me to give away. Let me know if you have any interest.

By the way, it’s all true about Paul. He came out healed and whole.

Both Baxter and Paul have helped me loads. More later.

The oddest God-thing (I hope) is that right before I emailed you I was thinking, “I wonder if I’ll ever meet any of these guys and/or talk with anyone about what they are talking about.” Because I don’t know anyone except you that is exposed to this. Just a fleeting thought that I dismissed as something maybe years in the future. And then you extended the offer, which was a huge surprise. So, I have peace about it all.

“The Shack Revisited” video series is the one I have been listening to during the past 24 hours. I have so many questions. I’m on video #5 out of six right now. I had to take a break for my mind to catch up.

So glad you emailed me today, are interested, and can go to women’s retreat. Knowing this whole thing was Papa’s idea, I’m tickled pink you are coming!

I encouraged those from our area to read Baxter’s latest book, “Patmos”. No need for you to read it unless you want to. Don’t think it will be a focus at the retreat, but knowing Baxter, one can never say.
