Rejected Lamb

Ray Carman talked about the rejected lamb. Its mother didn’t want it. Its mother chose to keep the boy she birthed, but ran off the daughter.

Ray Carman talked about how he was excited to bottle feed and raise the baby lamb. He said the bottle-fed, hand-raised, rejected lambs were the ones that would run to him when he went out into the field. He said they were like little puppy dogs.

He said that the rejected lambs learned to trust him and love him. But the other sheep that didn’t know him as well were scared.

Yet when the rejected lamb would run to the shepherd, the other sheep would follow behind. The rejected lamb was showing the others that the Shepherd was safe.

I feel like I have a closer relationship to God than many people that I know. And I feel like I hear God’s voice more than many. But not that they aren’t able. Just sometimes maybe they haven’t needed to hear it as badly as I have. I had no choice but to trust God.

The best compliment someone gave me was that they read my writing and it made them feel like they wanted the kind of relationship with God that I have. That was exactly what I had hoped my writing would do. Motivate them to seek and see for themselves.
