This used to be a popping spot back in the day at their old location. I haven’t been to this new location, but it might be worth stopping by if you’re in the area. Country vibe. Probably mostly locals.

Rainbow-friendly club downtown. Draws a big crowd of curious people. Expect lots of rowdy drunks the later the night gets.

Catch a concert or go for the night. This place often gets really crowded and rowdy.

Gruene Hall1281 Gruene Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78130
Small historic dancehall that should definitely be on the list if you’re into that sort of thing. Billed as Texas’ oldest dancehall. Draws a big crowd and sometimes some bigger acts. Make a day of it if you make the trip out this way.

A nightclub. Also located along the strip of like-minded clubs on Main Street. Rainbow-friendly.

Popular bar downtown on the Riverwalk.

John T. Floore’s Country Store14492 Old Bandera Rd, Helotes, TX 78023
Country club located on the far edge of town. Big on live music. Sometimes big acts come through here.

Rooftop bar right on the Riverwalk closer to the Pearl District. On Sundays they have a drag brunch show.

One of the more popular clubs in town. Has lots of drag shows.

Sparky’s Pub1416 N Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212
Located in the middle of a group of very popular clubs. Rainbow-friendly.

St. Mary’s StripSt Mary’s Street between Euclid and 281, San Antonio, TX 78212
Austin has 6th Street. New Orleans has Bourbon Street. This isn’t as grand, but there is a big row of establishments that stay busy with music, booze, and food at night here in San Antonio on St. Mary’s Street.

This downtown bar comes highly recommended from locals.

The Friendly Spot Ice House943 S Alamo St, San Antonio, TX 78205
Really chill vibe here. Locals mostly. Lots of people-watching. Close to downtown. I believe it is also dog-friendly. There is a playground for the kids and lots of seating.

Thirsty Horse Saloon2335 NW Military Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78231
Popular country bar on the northside. Also has musical acts that tour through.
