Music, music, music. Tons of music. Big names and small. Packed event. Get your tickets and hotels early. Usually happens in October.

Buda Wiener Dog RacesBuda City Park, Buda, TX
Come see dachshunds race for the gold.

Fiesta San Antonio – multiple locations in mostly downtown San Antonio, TX
Parades, eating, festivals, decorations. Definitely recommend checking out all of the events if you are going to be in town. Usually happens around March and April.

Grand Prix/Formula One (F1)Circuit of the Americas, 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd, Austin, TX 78617
One of the largest events to visit Austin every year. Huge artists usually put on concerts. The main events are at the track, but the city will be full of other events around the same time. Plan and book early; this event brings in people from all over the world. I highly recommend driving yourself in or taking one of the busses instead of depending on rideshare services. Usually happens in October.

Houston Livestock Show and RodeoNRG Park, Houston, TX 77054
One of the bigger rodeos you may ever experience. Of course they have rodeo events along with fairgrounds, parades, music events, shopping, and many other offerings. Usually happens in February and March.

International Quilt FestivalGeorge R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, TX
You might not be into quilts, but I’d still recommend going to this event if you are artistic. There are so many beautiful pieces of fabric art at this event. Usually held in November.

San Antonio Stock Show & RodeoAT&T Center, 723 AT&T Center Parkway, San Antonio, TX 78219
Fairgrounds, shopping, concerts, and rodeo events. This is a really big event that lasts about two weeks. Usually happens in February.

SXSW – multiple locations in mostly downtown Austin, TX
SXSW helped put Austin on the map. This festival has grown so much over the years. It started out being mostly about live music. But now it is an event to experience and make connections in so many other areas. Usually happens in March.

Texas SandfestBetween beach mile markers 9 and 13, Port Aransas, TX
Huge professional sand sculptures on the beach. Shopping, food, and music also offered. Usually happens in April.

State Fair of TexasFair Park, Dallas, Texas
Of course you have to go see Big Tex. And then all the dozens of other exhibitions. Usually from September to October.

Sweetwater Rattlesnake RoundupNolan County Coliseum, 220 Coliseum Drive, Sweetwater, TX 79556
Billed as the “World’s Largest Rattlesnake Roundup”. Offers other events in addition to the hunt. Usually happens in March.

Texas Renaissance Festival21778 Farm to Market 1774, Todd Mission, TX 77363
Like Game of Thrones? Come get your fill. Lots of events. Turkey legs included. Usually happens in October.

Wurstfest178 Landa Park Dr, New Braunfels, TX 78130
Lots of beer and celebrating German culture. Usually happens around November.
