Fiesta San Antonio – multiple locations in mostly downtown San Antonio, TX
Parades, eating, festivals, decorations. Definitely recommend checking out all of the events if you are going to be in town. Usually happens around March and April.
Grand Prix/Formula One (F1) – Circuit of the Americas, 9201 Circuit of the Americas Blvd, Austin, TX 78617
One of the largest events to visit Austin every year. Huge artists usually put on concerts. The main events are at the track, but the city will be full of other events around the same time. Plan and book early; this event brings in people from all over the world. I highly recommend driving yourself in or taking one of the busses instead of depending on rideshare services. Usually happens in October.
Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo – NRG Park, Houston, TX 77054
One of the bigger rodeos you may ever experience. Of course they have rodeo events along with fairgrounds, parades, music events, shopping, and many other offerings. Usually happens in February and March.
International Quilt Festival – George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, TX
You might not be into quilts, but I’d still recommend going to this event if you are artistic. There are so many beautiful pieces of fabric art at this event. Usually held in November.
San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo – AT&T Center, 723 AT&T Center Parkway, San Antonio, TX 78219
Fairgrounds, shopping, concerts, and rodeo events. This is a really big event that lasts about two weeks. Usually happens in February.
SXSW – multiple locations in mostly downtown Austin, TX
SXSW helped put Austin on the map. This festival has grown so much over the years. It started out being mostly about live music. But now it is an event to experience and make connections in so many other areas. Usually happens in March.
Texas Sandfest – Between beach mile markers 9 and 13, Port Aransas, TX
Huge professional sand sculptures on the beach. Shopping, food, and music also offered. Usually happens in April.
Sweetwater Rattlesnake Roundup – Nolan County Coliseum, 220 Coliseum Drive, Sweetwater, TX 79556
Billed as the “World’s Largest Rattlesnake Roundup”. Offers other events in addition to the hunt. Usually happens in March.
